While there is no best time for a balloon flight, the main flying season begins in mid March and continues until about mid October. Many are led to believe that summer is the best time for a balloon flight, thinking that the warmer temperatures make the summer months an ideal time for flying. However, this is not necessarily the case. Allowing for the fact that you feel no wind when you are in a balloon, and for the heat radiated from the burners, it is much warmer in a balloon than you might think. Most balloon operators feel that spring and autumn mornings are the ideal time for ballooning, as the air is clearer and the view can be more spectacular given the vibrant colours of the seasons.
